----------------------------------- It is the little moments in life ------------------------------------
I have been previewing some Video's that exemplify today's Message Quote and I wanted to share with you something very meaningful, something each of you, whether you are active duty, Retired Veteran, Discharged Veteran, or Disabled Veteran... The Vietnam war was a very unpopular War and one where military personnel were treated poorly, no matter where they were stationed, but mostly those returning home from duty in Vietnam...
One person put it this way: Vietnam veterans were stereotyped and demonized to such a great extent that even the widows of deceased servicemen received late-night harassing phone calls. It has been said by some that at no point in our country's history have our veterans been hurt more by our own countrymen than by the enemy. For many vets, the homecoming was often a powerful first encounter that made their adjustment to civilian society more difficult. This is the story of a Kentucky base that felt it was time to give these veterans the welcome home they never received.
I share this video with you as a former USAF Vietnam Era Veteran and although I did not serve in Vietnam, some of my friends did... This video is dedicated to all the Vietnam Veterans from all branches of the Military who were never treated right by many of those at home...
