A Republican congressman has called on Senate colleagues to convict Donald Trump, or see more violent acts carried out by the one-term president’s supporters.
Adam Kinzinger, an Illinois Republican in the House of Representatives, warned in an op-ed on Monday that the second impeachment trial against Mr Trump was about “accountability”, and pleaded with Senate colleagues to convict – rather than acquit.
Writing in a Washington Post article titled 'My fellow Republicans, convicting Trump is necessary to save America,' the congressman argued that recent chaos could be repeated without a clear message being sent by a Senate conviction.
Mr Trump’s second Senate trial begins on Tuesday, just over a month after Congress was besieged by crowds falsely claiming the presidential election was “stolen” by Democrats.

Jesus. Every time the media wants to "prove" anti Trump support in the Republican Party, they roll out one of their pet RINO's as proof. Here are the simple facts, a vote to Impeach would be a death blow to most of the Republican Senators and the impeachment is about trying to remove Trump from the mix. Most of these guys can read the internal polls and saw the that over 50 percent of the Republican Voters said they would join a third party if Trump started one and another 30 percent or so said they were likely to join. Even McConnell took a load of crap for supporting impeachment. Whether Trump ever runs again is still unknown, but the Party won't survive if he is pushed out.

I would posit that there is far more chance of unrest if he is impeached, at least by Republicans. Now the Congresscritter may mean that Antifa and BLM may riot if he is acquitted, which has a better chance of happening. But, somehow I don't think his mind runs in that vein.
