Could it? Sure. Will it be? With the prominent historical Airborne leaders out there, it is unlikely.

The Airborne rolls are filled with many leaders, concur, but I would be hard pressed to not recognize Ridgeway, Gavin, McAuliffe from the WWII era. For modern era heroes, Robinson, Stiner, Shelton, Kurilla, but then again, they rest on the shoulders of those who jumped before. Any potential name should reflect and inculcate the Airborne culture brand through and through. AATW!

LTJG Richard Bruce - Not quite a super-duper paratrooper -- I'm going to politely decline, thank-you lol

Everyone in your area, and now me since you shared that with me. Which only proves what I said earlier. This revisionist crap is bullshit.

SFC Melvin Brandenburg - And used those "issues" to betray the country and try to start their own country. I.E. they were traitors and deserve to have their traitorous names removed from the bases of the country they didn't want to be a part of.

Seems like this is a better choice for Fort Rucker (IMO), considering CPT Hampton was a helicopter pilot. I agree with CSM Chuck Stafford that it should be renamed after someone in the Airborne community.
