"The task force says the Navy needs to initiate a systematic review to identify any assets that honor the Confederacy or are named for "racist, derogatory or culturally insensitive persons, events or language."
The Navy's "founder", John Paul Jones, was a slaver and accused murderer. Alexander Hamilton, the founder of the greatest naval force in history, US Coast Guard, was also a slaver. Almost every ship in the navy is named for "racist, derogatory or culturally insensitive persons, events or language." The CCP must be throwing a wild party knowing that a Rear Admiral is spending his time listening to hundreds of focus groups instead of preparing sailors for a real national threat. Maybe the whole process is to confuse the world on our ship's list. Changing names may make our undersized Navy look bigger.
