Having taken very intense negotiation training many years ago I can tell you this article provides good advice, even though there is much more to the story. I wish our elected officials truly understood good negotiation tactics. President Trump did, and that’s why we got the best deals with him. Be suspicious of any negotiator that starts off with a concession, or even goes to a concession within the first few days or weeks of a negotiation. Reassign these types of negotiators to work that more suits them.
