Your tax money goes to viagra, breast augmentation, vasectomies, lasik/prk, and other elective surgeries. You are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Why should taxpayers be on the hook at all for any surgeries that are elective?

Capt Jeff S. - Here are what's considered elective surgeries:

"Elective surgeries and procedures are those that are not urgent and can be rescheduled for a later date. Examples include but are not limited to: laser surgery, hernia repair, non-emergent back surgery, colonoscopies, and joint replacements. " So you don't want people to have elective surgeries? Okay no more of those things. We'll just let people suffer hernias or not have colonoscopies and risk colon cancer. No joint replacements. No back surgeries. Oh and during covid dental facilities on bases aren't doing teeth cleanings. So no more teeth cleanings either. Let the teeth rot out.

This from an article when they were starting to do electives again after covid restrictions lifted:

"All others waiting for elective surgeries -- which includes a spectrum of procedures ranging from wart removal to excising of tumors -- will be prioritized based on risk to the patient and logistics at the hospital or clinic level."

Yep screw tumors. That's elective. Screw warts because Jeff Schwager doesn't want his taxpayer money to go to that.

You're taking everything out of context and injecting your personal feelings and emotions into the argument. You've lost your marbles and are comparing apples with oranges. If a woman wants a breast augmentation, that is an elective surgery. In fact, it will probably lead to more health problems later on than if she just accepted herself as God made her. Likewise for Transgenders. We don't get to pick our sex. And sex and gender are connected. They are not constructs we define. You have to accept the person you are and do the best with what God gave you. Life isn't fair. That's just something we have to deal with. But don't be mad at God. If He was fair, we'd all be in Hell.

Capt Jeff S. I don't believe in your god or anyone else's. You are the one bringing feelings and religion into the mix. Your religion doesn't get a say. Women also get elective breast reductions. You cannot mask your religious bigotry under the guise of tax dollars and government spending.

Transgender health care costs the military less than 1% of its healthcare budget. Many transgender people don't get gender reassignment surgery. I doubt you'll see an influx of people trying to enlist solely for gender reassignment.

Capt Jeff S. - LESS THAN 1%. Less than. And no that's not on the grand scheme of things at all.

Really? The country can't afford to waste money? LMAO where have you been because the government wastes money on a daily basis. WE waste money in the military daily.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - Uh, thanks for confirming that you waste money daily. I tried not to waste money when I was in. The Marine Corps will always be around because it is the most efficient with its use of money.

It's a shame that for the last four years we had a Congress that wasted $40 million trying to overturn an election that they rigged and lost because so many people voted against their corruption that it broke their algorithm. And this time they somehow managed to succeed in convincing enough people to accept a stolen election and they are going to waste even more money on an impeachment trial of a private citizen. Totally unconstitutional but hey, it's also unconstitutional for states to change their voting regulations in violation of their own state constitutions and do the things they did to prevent observation by poll watchers but here we are. You sound like part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Capt Jeff S. - That's the entire DoD definition of elective surgeries.

So wait you think colonoscopies are a waste? Hmm weird. If not for a colonoscopy my dad would be dead from colon cancer. Had my grandma had them done, she'd not have died when she did. I'll have to start getting them earlier.

Joint repair is a waste? Hernia repair? Seriously? That's cool. My daughter had three hernias to repair as an infant - inguinal hernias, umbilical and in her diaphragm. Thanks to TRICARE those were covered. Along with everything else she's had.

I guarantee the Marines waste money - like printing out tons of paper, etc? C'mon.

So you're saying Congress somehow rigged the 2016 election? LOL what?

It's a waste of time to argue with you. Your mind is made up and will not change. The worst kind of ignorance is willful ignorance. There's no excuse for it.
