Good. If walking through metal detectors is good enough for our children, so they can go to school, then it's good enough for members of Congress so they can go to work.

Was there a vote to require lawmakers to go through metal detectors?
Because if it isn't a law, I don't know how they figure they can enforce it.

What makes it law to put them in schools, hospitals, court houses, select public access buildings belonging to state or federal agencies? There doesn’t need to be a law or vote by Congress. Force protection is a security matter and federal law enforcement has oversight of that; in this case, it’s Capitol Police working with DoJ and senior Congressional leaders in both Houses (Pelosi, McCarthy, McConnell, Schumer at the minimum).

Refusing to go through a metal detector is like refusing to be searched at the airport by the TSA or (dare I use a Right Wing argument) refusing to hand over your ID to law enforcement. What do they have to hide?

PFC (Join to see) So the TSA, court houses, and public schools violate our 4th amendment everyday. Hmmm. After an armed attack on the building, setting up metal detector checkpoints as preventive measures are unreasonable? Hmmm indeed.
