Seth Meyers has taken Tucker Carlson to task after the Fox News host complained about social media companies’ responses to the US Capitol insurrection.
Meyers played a brief clip from Carlson’s show on his own programme, Late Night With Seth Meyers, on Tuesday night. That same day, Carlson was among several conservative commentators who decried a series of measures taken by various social media platforms following the violent storming of the Capitol on 6 January.
On his own show, Meyers played an excerpt in which Carlson told viewers, among other grievances: “Imagine that. You wake up and you’re suddenly unpopular with the wrong person, and you can’t communicate.”
Mimicking Carlson’s tone, Meyers added: “Imagine that. You take part in one little insurrection to overthrow the United States government, and suddenly you can’t communicate.”
