This presentation gave me an idea. I want to talk about "Science". We have been assailed of late by people armed with "Science" and, if we fail to do exactly what they want us to do (submit to their vast intellectual powers), we are accused of being "science deniers".
This presentation is not about science nor is it "scientific". However, it demonstrates the origins of science. All science begins as protoscience in the imagination. The scientific method cannot exist without hypotheses. Scientific/methodical experimentation and observation are then used to prove or disprove the hypothesis. Hypotheses are the product of imagination and without hypotheses there can be no science.
Now, people may argue over the contents of this video. I wonder how many will realize that it is merely a hypothesis. I wonder how many will even think about a method of proving or disproving it. I wonder how many will simply respond with opinion (an opposing hypothesis).
I wonder a lot.

We, as a society, have gotten so far from the scientific method. Now, most people make assumptions/hypotheses and call these undeniable scientific fact. They forget the little part about testing to make sure the hypothesis is correct or not...

Testing is the challenge, isn't it! It requires trustworthy team work and resources we are not always able to access. I have applied the process of scientific method to nearly everything I say and do, when there is the need for and luxury of thinking about plans and decisions - since first learning about it in high school Chemistry. Considering all the variables that apply is another challenge. I have to say that employing common sense, practicality, and creativity in the just right mix to everything to which we apply the structure of the Scientific Method . . . is a skill we develop over time through bad and good experience.
