This is such a stupid distraction. I DON"T CARE if Dr. Biden wants to call herself
"Jill the First Lady, by the Grace of God, of The Contiguous United States of The North American Continent, Alaska and Hawaii, The Overseas American Territories and Protectorates, Defender of Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and the American Way and Education Smartie Pants"
Where I grew up, if someone got a PhD, it stands for Doctor of Philosophy. [Although just what you'd expect of academics, they reversed the words in the abbreviation.] You give them credit and respect for their academic achievement, UNLESS they are absolute jackasses about insisting on it. In that case you give them some sort of alliterative version of their first name that annoys the living crap out them until they lighten up or go away.
I'm willing to bet that Dr. Biden is a pretty nice person and isn't all wrapped up in her title.
How about we pay attention to the Biden administrations policy positions on the economy, energy, defense, the ecology, international relations, gun control, government regulation, etc. etc. etc.? THAT SUBJECT is worthy of discussion and debate. I volunteer to be the skeptic of President-elect Biden's administration.

The point was never about what Dr. Biden 'wants' to call herself. It has always been about the misogynistic attack on her from someone who, in comparison, has no education at all, and, by extension, the sexism inherent in a system that has no problem addressing men with PhD's as Doctor, but, for some reason, explodes when it is a woman.

I was attempting to point out that anyone using this issue to try and score points AGAINST a Biden administration is an easily distracted dum dum.
I don't think it has a thing to do with her gender. It has to do with her party affiliation. It is a pathetically weak play at the politics of personal destruction. No matter what the kerfuffle it is about, it is silly. And if my fellow Biden administration skeptics bring it up, I'll be glad to let them know they are embarrassing the rest of us Biden administration skeptics.

Maj John Bell I agree. Dr. Jill Biden is the soft target. It's a waste of time, and rather cowardly, to go after her, when the real focus of their angst should be on the President-Elect. After all, he's the one who donned the gloves and entered the political arena to fight. Going after her is basically a sucker punch on an innocent bystander.

Ok. Ugly thread, for sure. I am 100% positive not a mean word was directed at First Lady Melania Trump. No! Never! And not on this forum.
By the way, did you know the search functionality does not support the content of a post, only a partial hit on the title or a (really) fuzzy hit on similar words? Melania brought back hits for Malaria, Melanoma, the "Hugs Lady" and generally everything NOT having a thing to do with Melania. I did find one post that had her name as part of a shared link. Something about scarves. Because you know the improper wearing of a scarf will cause WW-III...
