Honestly I no longer trust anything I read and most of what I see. Every symptom of every disease is or isn’t a symptom of covid. Everything that works does and doesn’t. It all depends on what channel you’re on.

I did a semi-deep dive into this when it first came up and if I remember, the disinfectant/antiseptic properties of UV light maximize in the UV-C range, which is the portion of the UV spectrum that is most carcinogenic. It’s also the portion (thankfully) that is most filtered by the upper atmosphere. The takeaway I got is that it’s good for surfaces but not a safe solution for people.
LED's may produce some UV light. However, it may not be enough UV to kill pathogens. In order to kill pathogens with UV there are several considerations to make. The amount of UV being produced. The type of pathogen begin targeted and the size of the area. Also the area has to be properly cleaned. UV light can't penetrate through dirt for example. COVID is an enveloped virus and is easier to kill. The length of time it can live on a surface depends on the surface, temperature, etc. The Tru-D is a great example of using UV light to kill pathogens. But these systems are expensive. The cost effective way to kill off pathogens is to first clean the area and then disinfect the area. Here is the Tru-D website. https://tru-d.com/
