Join us in this 4th episode as we delve into feelings.
> Our emotions, left unchecked, often lead to disobedience.
> Fear doesn’t come alone, it comes with confusion and doubt.
> Fear takes place in the mind and is amplified by emotions and the physical senses. Faith is in the heart and is amplified by the Word of God.
In this world we must walk by faith, not by feelings. Feelings will conflict with faith a lot of the time.
Abraham feared that he would not have a son, a direct heir and Sara feared she couldn't bare Abraham a child. Enter Hagar and we now find that fear over faith will not get you the desired outcome. Fear and disobedience is a roadblock to communication with God. It was 13 years from the disobedience of Abram and Sarai until God spoke again to Abram.
Even though Jesus warned Peter to remain awake and pray, thereby preparing himself for what was to come, Peter slept and was caught with weak faith.
Peter confused because Jesus reprimanded him and told him not to defend Him and Peter, weak in faith, stumbles in fear. Jesus warned Peter of the devil’s intent and that He had prayed for Peter and even though Jesus prayed for Peter, Peter slept when he should have been praying and his faith was too little to prevent fear from overtaking him.
The joy and the increase in faith at seeing the Lord again must have been immense and not only does Jesus restore Peter but He also places on him the call to pastor His people.
