This is a case where this guy seems to have deserved this - actually he should have been killed the same way he killed his 2 year old daughter.
I do find this rush to put all these people through execution the last few months of Trump's administration is really strange. Why didn't these all get done in the last 4 years? Why the rush to get them executed before his term ends?

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff
SPC Michael Head - They were supposed to be letting nonviolent offenders out of jail to have more space. I have no issue with nonviolent offenders getting released on probation or something.
Our criminal justice system is fucked up and needs reform. Also - we have the highest rate of incarceration in the world. There are some things people sit in jail for that honestly make no sense. Our baily system needs reform. The public defender system. All of it. There are serious issues among all of it. There are legally innocent people in jails right now sitting there solely because they can't afford bail.
I do get a bit conflicted on it as my ex is in and out of jail and prison (for nonviolent offenses lately) and I would rather he not be able to just get out because he can't pay bail. Although he did get a PR bond back in Mar to go to rehab and halfway house but he fucked that up.
Either way - our systems are messed up. They do need reform. I also think the death penalty is pointless. It doesn't deter anyone. People sit on death row for decades due to appeals (which there should be appeals since people are wrongly convicted). It costs taxpayers more than a life sentence.
I just don't feel any sympathy for this guy being executed since what he did was atrocious. I just think when people are sentenced to death and rightfully sentenced they should face the same fate their victims did. But ultimately it's pointless.

They have a woman scheduled for 1/12/21. Sounds like she deserves it, if that is society's call. Current US law says it is. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-54587863
US schedules first federal execution of woman since 1953
Lisa Montgomery is due to become the first woman to face federal execution in the US in 67 years.
