I agree. We have a small family hobby farm in Missouri, when it comes to cattle, our vegetation is good enough that we can average a cow-calf pair on 1 1/2 acres. We only have two heifers and one bull. 400 cattle on 80 acres, sounds more like a feed lot than a place where cows can graze on pasture. My other thought was he's gotta be buying a lot of hay, since 400 cows on 80 acres, doesn't leave much land to grow hay for winter feed.

Cool article, I enjoyed the read, being that I am full-time employed, have a part-time job as well, and help take care of a 39-acre family hobby farm.
