Sorry to say, but given that we have already surveyed and mapped the entire globe of Mars from the Mars Global Surveyor satellite, this is mild disappointment to me... Huge amount of time spent, resulting in what looks to be a very blurry image.

I'm going to have to check the link. When I went to it the article didn't show up, however: Yes, you are right a picture is not as accurate as digital mapping. I believe the allure of it is that it’s an actual picture of what one would see.
