You know the last time I want on a military manuever in Germany with the Army our tab was $17.3 million in damages just for the first two weeks (that is damages not operational costs). The four week exercise had to be truncated in the third week because it went so far over budget. I know the cost of keeping an M1 tank turbine engine in good repair ain't cheap either and that does not even include the tank suspension or the mechanical stuff inside that has to be chreographically timed to a crew firing a tank shell.
