I question the motive here. Is it just Trump flexing his power while he still can? Or more devious? Is there some dark plan in his mind like trying to use the military to remain in office? Let's hope not.

"Conspiracy theories" never serve a good purpose and this just another. All Cabinet members and Principal Secretaries who are political appointees serve at the pleasure of those who appointed them. Esper's removal has been brewing for some time.....

MSG Stan Hutchison - "...removal.... and installing...." - not even a good soundbite! All politicians in the executive branch to a large extent remove and install appointees who meet this criteria. Worse, many Presidents appoint persons to positions based solely on a "pay-back" for financial contributions or other purposes. History bears this out rather remarkably well before the current administration.

SSG Robert Mark Odom Troubling to Hear. Makes One think He is Planning a Military Coup. He really does want to Make the US a Banana Republic.

He does not exhibit an allegiance to anyone but himself. He continues to pose a profound threat to the Constitution, Rule of Law, and to our military.

There is also increasing concerns of Trump posing a greater threat to national security when he is out of office, and can be blackmailed by foreign entities even more as a civilian. I read Esper's memo to the Pentagon staff. He is clearly a person of high integration. His letter was very positive of the men and women there!
