So watch the attached video deposition of the the person who is now Pope Francis. Maybe I am leaping to an unfounded conclusion here but it seems from his answers and sincerity that he was scared he might be next if he raised the issue to the Bishop in Buenos Aires. Otherwise it is difficult for me to believe he would not stick his neck out for a personal acquaintance that was in trouble (disappeared). She was later tortured and thrown from a plane while at altitude over the South Atlantic. I understand fear pretty well and his answers though calm seem to betray a fear for his own neck. Nothing wrong with that he is only human after all but then if that is the case. Why doesn't he admit it? Thats the part that has me scratching my head here. Because I cannot accept that he refused to escalate a life or death matter due to organizational hierarchy of the church. If I accept that was the case then how is this guy the Pope?
This should also be must review material for people that want to know what it is like living in a dictatorship that regularly kills it's own citizens based on their political beliefs.
