His family called for an ambulance due to a mental health issue - so why were the cops there at all? They didn't ask for any police intervention.
And what the fuck does any criminal history have to do with any of these cases? Lots of people have rapped about shooting cops - so they should get shot at too?
I'm wondering why they shot a guy with a knife as many times as they did? Also people have posted about similar incidents happening with white people who had a knife coming at police and they weren't shot.
For the ones I know who will ask if I was a cop what would I do in that situation? I would do my best to deescalate because I have a gun and a Taser, he has a knife. He's about 10 ft away so he's not going to hurt me. I'd likely have my Taser out first and if he came at me, I'd fire the Taser. If that didn't work and he kept coming then I'd shoot. I definitely wouldn't shoot as many times as they did. That's a bit over kill.
Amazing how conservative outlets always post the criminal history of a black person shot by the police but not if it's a white person (who usually end up getting arrested and taken to jail not shot).
"This is why I always wait for the facts to come out..." These aren't "facts" of anything. What do these "facts" prove? So anyone with a criminal history that interacts with police deserves getting shot? I just quit - I give up on humanity honestly. I hope an asteroid or something takes out this planet soon.

Regardless of his record he was another unwanted death to add to Philadelphias statics. I honestly wonder If officers have stun guns to taze someone. If they had stun guns he'd possibly still be alive now

I don't understand why he only got 11 to 23 months for the prior crimes.
If he did have psychological problems it is another case for reform of mental health laws. I suggest using a majority of the mental health staff at the VA. I'm tired of being referred to them for everything from pain to sleep problems to central nervous system poisoning.

MSG Tom Earley I wasn't stating a taser like the stun gun but your right an because of what happened the national guard is now here, I have helicopters buzzing over my head every so often north east an west philly are getting looted an it's only midnight. An I know it's my fault for picking to live in the city however it was more affordable then most neighbouring towns. Which you would think the city would be way more expensive nope. I just renewed my apartment lease so I'm stuck until September.

PO3 Patricia Miner this country suffers from mental health an drug related problems. An dont even get me started on them. I don't even use them anymore for mental health. Constantly wanting to dope me up on happy pills or anti depressants. Never took them never will.

PFC (Join to see) I have systemic central nervous system poisoning from exposure in the Navy. They keep putting me on happy pills for pain control. Every time I tell them I can't tolerate them they insist I take them. These are antidepressants and seizure meds. When I take them my symptoms get worse so I have to ween off of them. Prescribing these drugs to someone like me is bordering on malpractice. Also, I've taken opioids for pain in the past and never became addicted. These "safe" drugs are more addicting than opioids.
