From what I know about this joint base establishment, I’m not really surprised.

It's not as bad as it was last time I was here 05-09...it was almost like Ft Hood back then. I heard that's why 7th ID was stood up was to handle all that crap. I mean we had trunk checks all the time at the gate. Not in my BN but another EN BN had soldiers OD'ing on OTC meds. Someone brought some 16 year old girls in the barracks and they OD'd on OTC meds and had to get taken to hospital. That was 09 right before I PCSed.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - when I was Deputy Sheriff and working around the Tillicum Gate in the 70’s and 80’s, we had a boat load of low riders from the base causing us numerous problems, that the Commanding Officer of the Base broke up and sent them all to different posts around the world. There were tons of problems in the base and civilian housing and military housing outside the gate that took up so much of our time due to domestics, drugs, fights, etc. I am retired now but my contacts say it is still a problem.
