The "ideal" candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, but this is not a requirement. The talent acquisition team puts candidates through a phone interview, a face-to-face interview with a financial advisor, the submission of a business plan and discussion regarding that plan, and a "Day In The Life" assessment (done from home with your phone and computer) before making a determination.

I've never worked for USAA, so I can't comment one way or another on working for them. I have worked with Edward Jones and know first hand what the culture is like, how the company takes care of its financial advisors, the high quality of the training... I have had a fantastic experience, even if the work has been challenging.
