Good “Tuesday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader" from the overcast skies of the SW Corner of the Greater Boston Area... where it is now 71° with a humidity of 89% and winds S 2 mph... I am working my IT shift today and Thursday, so will be on and off most of the day (mostly off), but I will try to put in the "effort"! OH, it's "Effort Day!" Why Not?

1) "Effort and courage are not enough without purpose and direction." - John F. Kennedy

2) "We forget that every good that is worth possessing must be paid for in strokes of daily effort." - William James

3) "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra." - Jimmy Johnson

4) "A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success." - Elbert Hubbard

5) "Leadership is the ability to encourage the best efforts of others in working toward a desirable goal." - Spencer W. Kimball

6) "To those peoples in the huts and villages of half the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves, for whatever period is required - not because the Communists may be doing it, not because we seek their votes, but because it is right. If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich." - John F. Kennedy

Without strong effort nothing gets done and you will always find that effort is an important aspect of leadership... So, always...

“Be the leader that inspires the best effort in you team and others.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Sgt (Join to see) - Thanks for all the great quotes today Kerry. Much appreciated brother. Working through yesterday's responses this evening my friend...

“Your efforts can influence so many people in a lifetime. I try to make the effort to inspire as many RallyPoint Members, Connections, and Friends as I can with positive daily quotes and messages that will resonate with them throughout the days, weeks, months, and years here on the forum. Not everyone likes them, but most can walk away with a smile each day or a good feeling about life. Your efforts in life can change people and affect them in appositive manner. May you always inspire those around you with your own individual effort in everything that you do, whether it’s a job, a business, taking care of your family, or giving of your time and talent to help and grace others with your presence; may you always maintain a positive attitude through your efforts; may you take the best possible care of your own well-being; and keep your family safe, secure, happy and healthy through your efforts. Always give 100% and make an honest attempt to do something to your fill potential – why not?” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

COL Mikel J. Burroughs Thank you for your uplifting comments, Mikel...I probably spend more time than anyone else but you on my quote responses... Why? Because, like you, I try to reach as many people on RP as I can... I go through large #s of quotes to get the most salient, same with the image quotes... If I can make a difference in one Veterans life, I will have succeeded in my goal... Have a great evening, Mikel...

I expect your efforts on behalf of others have paid off in dividends in ways you never imagined. Selflessness after all is a sign of spiritual maturity while reverting to selfishness is assign of regression [except for the demented with Alzheimer’s and other mental diseases]. We demonstrate our faith in God by our demonstration of efforts to help our neighbors. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” [Matthew 22:36-38 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see).

I lift the widows, widowers, orphans, the imprisoned, the terminally ill, and the friendless to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU motivate YOUR adopted sons and daughters to intercede for these people through prayer and for the able and well-resourced through action. ‘Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.' [James 1:27 ESV]
Thank YOU, LORD for electing each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters before time began. In YOUR perfect timing YOU regenerate our heart/soul and bring about the spiritual rebirth of salvation. YOU allow each of us to go through testing, trials and challenges as YOU sanctify us. Nothing happens to us that is against YOUR specific will. 'And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.' {Romans 8:28-30 ESV]
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer takes to heart the admonition to pray for leaders of this nation as well as others in authority since the LORD raises up and demotes in accordance with HIS wisdom and perfect timing. 'First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." [1 Timothy 2:1-4 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Tuesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Wednesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.
