Thank you my friend LTC (Join to see) for posting. The mass exodus from California is wonderful IMHO. Hopefully enough people and businesses left in front of the census count to reduce the number of state representatives.

Lov(ed) San Francisco the way it was years ago when, as luck would have it, we were having lunch in the Fairmont on Knob Hill and my wife mentioned to the waitress that she would love to see Tony Bennet at the Fairmont where he was singing that night and the waitress leaned over and said to my wife,, "honey, he is sitting right next to you". Also, you were able to comfortably walk around day or night, but I don't believe it is like that anymore and may not ever return to those beautiful days. So sad !

I am so glad I left California when I was discharged from the Navy. I almost took a DOD Police job there.

They've already figured out a way to increase taxes on income for people who work from out of state and they were trying to figure out a way to charge higher taxes on property sales if they don't purchase inside the state after selling.

"California is in the midst of a significant overhaul of its tax code, and there’s one bill in particular that has lots of people talking. Assembly Bill 2088 (AB 2088), which was introduced in Sacramento in August of 2020, would impose the state’s first wealth tax. And more controversially, it proposes to levy a wealth tax on Californians for a period of up to 10 years, even after they’ve left the state, a California exit tax.

What AB 2088 does do is propose to assess taxes on former California residents for up to a decade after they’ve left the state.

AB 2088 would impose a 0.4 % percent annual tax on a taxpayer’s worldwide wealth above $30 million (not counting real estate), based on market value at the end of each calendar year. Part-year residents would pay a prorated tax based on the number of days spent in California annually."

The California Democrats may not ban leaving the state, but that doesn't mean they will give up shearing the sheep, even after they've left the fold.
