Last time I checked, Times Square was open to everybody and traffic slowed and monitored. This guy was a predator and did not listen to the cops.

Let me tell you a story... Once upon a time I had the neighbors from hell. When the wife wasn't making repeated calls from a phone booth and hanging up every time we answered, she was vandalizing our home. The husband went slowly insane attempting to cover for his wife. On one occasion he pointed a gun at a child practicing soccer in the schoolyard behind our houses. (Yes, he was arrested but the DA declined to prosecute because children are such poor witnesses.) The wife repeatedly threatened my wife and children and followed them as my wife drove the kids to school. After several complaints it became clear that the police weren't going to do anything to protect us and the idea dawned on me that they wouldn't protect them. So, I began to harass them until they finally moved. Now, let's escalate this story to today's incidents of rioters and looters running amok while the police are told to stand down. Indeed, the police are being threatened by our fearless leaders with dismissal in vain attempts to appease the thugs. Is it possible that some are, like me, deciding that the thugs are not going to be protected?

CPT Jack Durish
SPC Kevin Ford I wasn't justifying the actions in this instance. I was merely demonstrating how things can spirsl out of control when the law isn't enforced, and you reached the conclusion that I was aiming at.
