Why do people object to and violate laws against rioting, arson and looting?

I can agree with this author on principle and don't necessarily disagree with his conclusions relating to the use of the face mask.
However, unless the Senate in a state passes a law which requires the Governors signature (And I am personally unaware of this happening in any state), there is no law in this country mandating the use of face masks; only Executive Orders which are not law no matter who signs them. So, on that note I must disagree with his statements regarding face mask law(s).
The resistance in this instance comes from a general resentment of governmental meddling but also governmental overreach involving a public so saturated with ill-feeling toward particular politicians and government in general, that compliance can neither be expected or assured. In Michigan, for example, the Governor ordered local PD Chiefs and Sheriffs to write tickets to offenders who were to then pay a hefty fine. Included in that order was to stop and ticket drivers of vehicles on the road after midnight. As colossally absurd and unenforceable as was George Washington ordering soldiers not to swear.
Is it a smart thing to wear a mask? Yes, if it is the right one and the wearer knows how to don it properly. But it is not law and likely never will be.
This is simply my opinion and others are free to disagree.
Stay well and have a great evening.

What is lacking is culture. I will continue referring to this point until something or someone hears me.
I board ships from around the world performing my job. If you could hear how the international shipping industry views America, you would be ashamed.
WHAT IS YOUR VIEW OF AMERICAN CULTURE?
