How the US prepared for the pandemic was not gross negligence, it was criminal.

SPC (Join to see) - There were countless articles of hospitals running out of PPEs. Many doctors and nurses washed their masks. From a national perspective, this was a problem. I forgot exactly why we had a glitch in our testing. I believe we eschewed making models of tests that were already made in order for us to create our own tests. That flopped. We wasted valuable weeks hearing empty promises that the pandemic will not be a threat to the country.

Initially the testing was on the hospitals. Most were considering covid in the very early stages of this to be rare. In this case after we tested someone for flu and came back positive we would rule out covid and forget the covid test. Unfortunately from the CDC reports it is likely a lot of these patients in the beginning had COVID as well as flu at the same time.

One of the major problems is pertinent agencies did not ramp up quicker to support the pandemic planning. The federal government needs to take the central role in national disasters. SPC (Join to see)

SPC (Join to see) - Here is the CDC Pandemic Plan if you want to read it. To be honest I only skimmed it. Knowing it exists is half the battle. I want to thank you for being a front line worker. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/pdf/pan-flu-report-2017v2.pdf
