MAJ Byron Oyler - That's not how social media works. Private groups and feeds generally do not have people like you and LTC (Join to see) come in an fact check information. Instead, falsehoods get passed around unchallenged or if they are challenged, they get lost in the discourse. I'm reasonably sure they (FB and Twitter) decided it was false by listening to professionals in the field and the statistics on who is sick and died. It's pretty clearly wrong.

In this case it is falsehoods that normal people are making life and death decisions based on from on their own risk tolerance and their risk tolerance for their children. Also to be clear, I'm sure you know a disease can be dangerous for two distinct reasons, it's high communicability or a high death rate. The deaths are already 3X the normal annual flu deaths so we are left with two options here, the death rate is higher or it is being passed to a lot more people than the flu is annually (or some combination of the two). Mathematically, there is no other way around it and either is a cause for concern. As I've pointed out on RP, COVID is likely in the top five highest causes of death in 2020. If I were to guess it will stop at third. That's my expertise in data science talking.
