NASA's newest Mars 2020 rover, Perseverance, has been successfully launched and is headed for Mars, with a helicopter on board. I have started this at the 2:35 minute mark of the video and you can cut it off at the 12:43 minute mark as there is basically nothing of interest after that...
The Rover "Perseverance" will reach Mars and offload from its host rocket on February 18, 2021 at 3:40 PM Eastern Time... As a side note: Every 26-months, Earth and Mars reach their closest proximity to each other, which allows for the fastest trip from planet Earth to Planet Mars...
About Perseverance:
"The Perseverance rover's long-range mobility system allows it to travel on the surface of Mars over a distance of 3 to 12 miles (5 to 20 kilometers). Perseverance has a new, more capable wheel design, among other improvements. For the first time, the rover carries a drill for coring samples from Martian rocks and soil."
More will follow as time moves on until the big moment when Perseverance touches down on Planet Mars and begins its Mars Mission...

Totally agree, but then I think back to Sputnik and what we can do when we put our minds to it.

Sgt (Join to see) As I implied in my response, we weren't always the leader in space, so I'm not worried.

Sputnik was the only real claim to fame really. If you look at history Germany had ICBMs that reached space during WWII. Tic for tac if you will. I'm sure that if you look at history more we may find something to beat Germany. Rockets have actually been around since the early 1900's and started in the USA.
