The article's author falls into the trap of NYT left-wing propaganda on the 1619 project. His first sentence, "The 1619 Project, named after the year when colonists first brought slaves to the U.S., attempts to..." Can anyone spot the MAJOR error? There was no U.S. to bring slaves to. The U.S. wouldn't exist for another 157 years! Yet the 1619 project attempts to lay fault on the U.S. for the 17th-century worldwide slavery trade it did not create.

This is the first time I have ever heard that the colonist separated from England so they could keep slavery. If I didn’t know any better I would question the validity of my degree in history. Revisionist and their supporters will never stop because revision is a lifetime task with each new generation.
