Until Mexico cleans it's house, which has always been the issue with the violence there. This kind of thing is going to continue. I am very happy with how the State of Texas deals with Mexico. Very disappointed that Mexico has been unable to rid itself of massive corruption so far.

The problem with Mexican government is that it has been subjected to over 50 years of corruption at all levels. US agencies hesitate to share intelligence with their Mexican counterparts due to the high chance of that information leaking.

Cpl Julio Rosa - I lived in Mexico City for a short period of time while on a project for a large American retailers Mexican subsidiary. I was living at the W hotel down there while Mexicans and some tourists were being beheaded. Mexican troops were on the side streets in canvas covered troop transports (which had to be hot inside) to act as a rapid response force but still be hidden from the tourists. That is probably the closest I have seen Mexico to Martial Law. Mexico can fix it's problem because other countries like Costa Rica had the same issue and fixed the problem. What is interesting was NAFTA was supposed to lift Mexico up economically. Instead it encouraged an insurgency in the South (Zapatista movement) and stagnated the country more than it otherwise would have grown. Costa Rica which was not part of NAFTA grew both it's GDP and per capita income at far greater levels than Mexico did over the same period. That is also sad. I am not sure what the solution is down there but I think they need to figure it out and address whatever it is.
