My wife got food poisoning several years ago. In comes the call from the health department (I think it was from the Yale Medical Center) asking about all the places where she ate and what she ate there. From her accounts and the accounts of several others who also got the same type of food poisoning they tracked it down to the common denominator, pita bread at a food stand at the Brimfield antique fair. Apparently they dropped raw chicken juice on the pita bread and gave a whole bunch of people salmonella poisoning.

That led to the food stand being shut down. That's how contract tracing works, and it does work.
