In my 20s, I was a lithe, agile 150 lbs of pure hate fueled by adrenaline, caffeine, and nicotine. In my 30s, that caught up with me, and I became a wheezing, pasty fat-body of 185 lbs. At 39, I decided that was stupid, quit smoking, and got back off my keister... I'm now in my 40s rocking a 32 inch waist and weighing in at a deceptively dangerous 160 lbs at somewhere under 10% body fat. My routine includes running 3-5 miles cross country or "road" about three times a week, hitting the gym hard two to three times a week, training in mixed marital arts one to two nights a week, and season dependent... kayaking or trekking on the weekends. I'm the family "chef", and keep our meals low in saturated fats, avoiding most "red" meat. My lasting vice is my love for beer... but so far, it doesn't seem to be negating my other efforts. I'm VERY fortunate my lovely wife endures the time away... I think because she might like the overall results ;)
