CID hasn't confirmed its her but her family feels it is...this isn't over either. They have two people in custody. And I would hope heads roll in her command too. This has been a cluster fuck.
The commander could have put that suspect who killed himself in custody...for one.

It's also never going to end for her family. Especially her mother. I don't know from experience - but I am friends with the mother of my daughter's kidney donor (deceased). 13 year old girl. Died in a car accident. Almost 3 years ago - a parent never gets an ending to that torment and pain of the death of a child.

They need to release more info, who the suspect was, if in barracks or housing, how he left the post. Seeing as they confronted him on foot. He had a weapon. Maybe it's time to do random checks on the way out. Always hated those damn things but understood the reasoning.

The commander should have put him in confinement if he was a suspect and he wouldn't have had the opportunity to take off.
They will release more info but as stated in another article (or maybe this one) that they can't release too much info now or it can hinder any prosecution of those they have in custody.
Once those go to trial, if they plead not guilty, it will all come out. And I will be surprised if there's no congressional investigation into this. Her family is not going to let it go. I don't blame them.
One of her sisters said she felt that Ft Hood officials were disingenuous. That they lied. That she's surprised they admitted to foul play. And an IG team is being sent there to look into their SHARP program - which should have been done if it wasn't after the base SARC 5 years ago was caught running a prostitution ring.
Her sister said she talked to that suspect who killed himself - and he laughed at her.
There's likely a lot more going on and it will come out eventually.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff yes the commander could have done more, I bet they are kicking their own ass right now over it. I've been to Hood it's not exactly a nice place. Lots of things happen there that shouldn't. But it's not alone in that regard either. Best hope is everything is figured out and the future is adapted to better prevent it.

SGT Justin Brothen - Well prostitution ring by the base VA/SARC 5 years ago...seems to be murders off base consistently. They found a soldier dead outside his home a month ago. Car burned. That missing soldier from Aug found last week in Killeen. I'm glad I didn't go there and haven't ever been there.
I doubt the Army fixes anything...I predict a lot of lip service.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff lots of attention and plenty of discrepancy so let's hope the national spotlight lights a fire.
