Depicting the 1993 raid to capture Mohamed Farah Aidid and subsequent Battle of Mogadishu, “Black Hawk Down” provided a pro-soldier narrative, a look into what happens when a mission goes wrong, and some straight up awesome action scenes.

Colonel McKnight taught polysci at my local college. Unfortunately I never had one of his classes. I ended up meeting him at a local charity event. Very down to earth person. Does not look at all like Sizemore.
One of the warrant officers at my first duty station was part of the relief column. He convinced the company commander to set up a screening of the film for our unit when it was released.
