Some times when people go MIA it’s because of something bad, embarrassing or life just became to hard. For me this is why I have been absent.
A fellow friend, veteran and ex lover of 5 years came to me asking for help with his PTSD. Without hesitation I opened my doors and home to him as he wa a homeless and going through what we all go through. So I thought. I have to admit even I can be fooled by the Rose covered goggles when I should have seen red flags. I am still human after all, and my love and desire to help fellow veterans made me blind to this Airborn 11B.
He was not as strong as I was so he used the element of surprise to over come me and weaken me by strangulation, the second time he used the love of my children against me and acted cowardly!
And he never deployed in his whole 6 years in the ARMY National Gaurd! How he got out of it was rehab! Every time deployment came up he doped up!
Nine years isn’t nearly enough for what he had done to my family and I, but apparently he has other pending charges he was running from. Hopefully he gets what he asked for, because my family and I sure didn’t ask for that!

That's terrible. You got rid of him once but were still such a good person that you tried to help out a fellow vet knowing what he was like. Hope this doesen't stop you or anyone else from helping out a fellow vet in need. The good always out weighs the bad. With any luck he will make some new and up close personnel friends in prison.

Thank you SGT Patrick Reno, and no I am tuff as nails to be honest. My kids and I have moved and started our lives over. I am still building a company that helps veterans but due to my personal situation I will be more hyper vigilant unfortunately.
