As people protest about their liberties as if a great imperial enemy is hindering their freedom, many have no clue that hospitals are war zones with many people sick, dying, doctors and nurses getting infected, and bodies piling up. It is unfortunately a perfect environment to get PTSD.

MAJ Ken Landgren: We have a neighbor who was a nurse at Da Nang in '68-'70. Her PTSD is through the roof watching what is happening in hospitals around the country. She knows what it's like having to determine who is walking wounded, immediate OR and expectant. But she says she signed up for it, unlike the medical staffs dealing with the corona virus. Her daughter is a nurse in Los Angeles and our neighbor is so scared for her. Our neighbor is talking quite a bit with hubby as she deals with her PTSD.

Patricia Overmeyer - I can only imagine the heart break seeing people die, deciding who lives, and lying about a prognosis. Can you give her access to a PTSD paper. It is called Love Squared. Who knows it might help her. https://www.wellnesswishes.org/post/love-squared-a-journey-of-healing-from-ptsd

MAJ Ken Landgren - Roger willco. I'll stick it in her next supply bag. We are getting her supplies as we go to the store. She's not going out much except to do some walking in the neighborhood, grilling and chilling on the back porch, etc. She and hubby have a gab fest every other day or so and I talk to her when I drop stuff off. So want to give her a hug, but that will have to be for later.

WILCO I have not heard that for years. lol The paper describes my personal journey healing from PTSD. I focus on describing PTSD and coping skills. I also focus on love. Perhaps a lot of love put into a broken heart can fix the wounds.
