Number one question: Did he try to go through his chain of command first?

MSG Stan Hutchison It's what I'm wondering as well and I suspect the answer is yes, either directly or knowing their feelings through "unofficial" conversations. This has all the hallmarks of someone making something public knowing it would end their career for the good of their men.

Perhaps it's not that, but his position is pretty freaking high to have made it that far without knowing the basics of going through the CoC.

From what Modly said there was multiple back and forth via email between the two of them and others. Guess the Capt. wasn’t liking the responses he was getting so sharing those comms with others resulted in it being leaked to SF Chronicle. A leader has to do what he has to do in the best interests of the men and women of his command in peacetime. Lets ignore where Modly compared the war on COVID-19 to armed conflict.

I suspect someone just lost the confidence of that ship's crew and I don't think it was the former captain.

As usual, CNN selectively butchers the quote to remove the context.

November 4th is going to be so funny.
