CPT (Join to see) Sounds nice, Big Sur is a place we've been through many times but never spent any time there.

I am 20 minutes from Dahlonega, GA. We are up there all the time. Great restaurants in the town.

They got California’s right, Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen! Carmel is indeed the best small town in the state! We’ve vacationed there and loved it!
They totally missed as far as Tennessee is concerned, though! Gatlinburg is a known tourist trap! The best small town in Tennessee is Franklin. It’s common knowledge!
We’ve been to Sanibel Island in Florida a number of times and always enjoyed our visits. There are many, many places in FL that could probably take that honor, though, and that one is really a tough call!

Agree on Carmel, we actually spent our wedding night there. When I was in college Gatlinburg wasn't nearly the tourist trap it is now but have been to Franklin as well and agree with you. Sanibel was our favorite place when I was stationed here in the 80s but hurricane Charlie tore it up and it hasn't come back the way it was IMO.
