I'm afraid the state government of CA is a glimpse into the future of the US Federal government. There are no signs of reversal of demographic, media bias, or prevailing social trends toward increased reliance on government control of individual behavior, including speech. There is no limit to what a socialist government can do to you, and there are no built-in "hard stops" left, once the constitution can be re-interpreted according to the social agenda.

Right along with your comment Sir I wonder and worry if I am setting my kids up for failure teaching them what the Constitution means to me, what free speech is , and the 2nd amendment right to protect your home. My kids see me working two jobs, active army and AMR because I want to stay proficient as a nurse yet advance as a field grade. My Father went to work M-F while I was growing up and that pattern is what I am teaching my kids, but will it be bad for them as they blend into society? I will still teach the same things but mirror your concerns.

I should not have to try to explain someones' offensive license plates or bumper sticker or blue balls to my 8 year old granddaughter. Offensive is offensive and should be common sense as to what one should not display.

OK, you're right. But, now I read the article and I haven't changed my stand. I still don't think offensive plates should be allowed.

If, "individuals have no right to complain when the government rejects their personalized message," is the message personalized?
Eliminate personalized tags, but, oh, the money. So much for standing for something.
