Weapons and weapon systems are big business, and either we supply them, or Russia supplies them. Whose influence do we want these countries to heed, ours, or the Russian's?

Without looking I would say the US, China, Russia, Germany, Iran.
The US is providing military aid to Indonesia which is currently committing genocide against the people of West Papua New Guinea. The Indonesians are jailing, killing, raping, and torturing the natives. So much for our innocence. You might find the video very disturbing.

We delude ourselves into thinking that things are black and white or good and bad. Life is not like that. It is messy and complicated. The victor writes the history so how we are remembered as a society will be dependent on if we win or lose.
