Thank you, we all need these reminders.
I am by no means a prepper, but we have a stockpile of various canned goods, and some rice, beans, split peas, and noodles in a rodent proof container. I keep an extra propane canister around. I figure we can do 8 weeks without leaving the house IF the water remains on, drop that to 4 weeks without electricity as we will need more propane for cooking/heating, probably.
I made a list the other day of things to grab if it all starts getting rough, propane and dog food on top, and other things. I have not bought a single thing we do not use, anyway, so if nothing happens, we get to do light shopping for a while.
I have to think ahead, if I get myself killed that's on me, but I need to take care of my wife, too.
