There wouldn't be much backlog if they were blocked at the border or funneled to entry ports by a wall. The concessions Trump made with Mexico and Mexico's use of their military to stop the invading caravans is also working well as a virtual wall.

If both houses would do what they are supposed to do, (compromise) they could find a path of Immigration reform. But both sides are so locked to their party platforms they cannot do their jobs.
