The rejects at the 30th AG "hold-over" unit are truly the worst. They are those who are either injured and are on their way home, or those who have failed out of Basic Combat Training and are getting kicked out. Despite their status as non-hackers and losers, they strut around like they are kings, calling everyone "private." Talking back to Drill Sergeants and using profanity and racial slurs is a definite NO-GO. IMHO, the DS should have done more than punch the kid in the face. That reject apparently needs a good "hard reboot" attitude adjustment. It's too bad the DS will likely feel the brunt of the punishment for this, as the new PC culture in the Army will somehow absolve the POS reject of any responsibility.

It’s all about policy letters and what’s been going on in each company/battalion. After graduation majority of the time the holdovers that are just simply waiting for their flights or orders to be corrected get their phones during the day unless they’re on some kind of detail and they’re collected at lights out each night.

From what I saw of that video and the comments on it it was from a company that had recently graduated thy had hold overs.
