As a clinician and based on my own research, a combat vet's trauma is complicated often w/ TBI, substance abuse and compacted grief and these are confounding factors. Compared to placebo interventions they are effective to a degree. W/O intervention, the suicide risk is very high. You are absolutely correct about a personalized clinical intervention over time.
