Judgment of the father should be harsh. Forgiveness does not preclude punishment. I would have to know more about the family. I do not believe in punishing people for generations for something over which they had no control.

Nope.
They made their choice. It was a bad one. Now they and their descendants will have to live (or die) with the consequences.
And before anyone gets all bleeding heart on me, I need look no further than the devastation left in ISIS' wake in Iraq, Libya, and Syria. They deserve whatever fate the local authorities determine is just.

Do you mean that if the descendants become horrible people, like their fathers, they should suffer or they should just suffer regardless?

I mean regardless of their protestations that they are "reformed" or whatever, they made their choice and that choice has consequences. I am sure that they will be judged fairly by the Sharia judge with jurisdiction.
Whatever "suffering" that might entail is due to their own choices, and pales in comparison to the suffering that they were a party to causing.
