The Biggest Celestial Event of the Year Could Happen Tomorrow

Cool beans. I saw an article on supernovas in Astronomy magazine some years ago. The author said that every time you think you understand how big a supernova is, it's actually bigger.
Which one would put more photons through your retina-
a) A hydrogen bomb detonating with your eye 1 inch from the bomb casing, or
b) A supernova going off at the sun's location, your eye being on Earth?
The answer- "b"

Chances are good that it won't happen soon, but that would be really something if it did.
