I guess maybe there is a downside to having 1.5 billion people all living on top of one another. Might make disease transmission easier, for one thing.

More likely infect thousands if not millions if better hygiene is not practiced and a new vaccine is developed. Otherwise, containment is very important at the moment.

coronoviru's main form of transmission is by air so hygiene is not a primary issue and the Chinese have been practicing good hygiene culturally for far longer than the west. You are right about the desperate need for a vaccine everyone whoud be working on it since diseases ignore borders.

Hygiene does include covering your mouth and nose and protecting yourself from airborne agents of all kinds.
