Just how many times do we have to be on the receiving end before it's justified to hit back. I went through the Iranian protests on US campuses in college and dealt with the aftermath of the Embassy Hostage Affair all the time I was in the service. I consider myself a good historian, actually know the history of the Middle East and I've read both the Koran and the Hadith, here is a historically backed opinion, Islamic Countries respect nothing else that strength. I've probably argued against involvement in almost every shithole we have been active in during the past 20 years, but Iran has cost American lives and I hold them responsible whether it's actually a member of Qud or Hezbollah or some Shiite Militia. Carter's lack of a decisive response to the original hostage crisis set the stage for a series of humiliations from the Beirut Marine Barracks to Fallujah. Yes, I've read the CIA report on the Coup in Iran, if you haven't, I would google it. Instead of some well run insidious plot, it was almost a comedy of errors, but it certainly did demonstrate that Mossedegh had lost control before it happened. And compared to his peers at the time, the Shah was far less brutal. That does not imply he was a nice guy, but the Shah's real crime was that his land reform threatened the economic power of the Mullah's.
If they respond, I hope we punch back hard and excessively.

CPT Lawrence Cable
SSG Robert Mark Odom - They have always had the option to stop, but their influence inside Iran depends upon keeping the population distracted from the problems they have lead the country into over the past four decades. What's certain is that they won't stop until it cost them so much that it isn't feasible to continue. For the most part, since the end of the War with Iraq, that cost has been paid by all of their surrogates, groups like the Hezbollah and the Houthis.

This is just state controlled and manipulated media. It is simply the Mullah's mouthpiece.
From the article:
"Soleimani was a general who never dismounted from the horse of jihad during these 38 years and his efforts were round the clock, Dr. Rouhani said, "The services of this great martyr for providing the security to the country and the region, especially for the people of Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Afghanistan, are unforgettable”.
No he did not dismount from the horse of jihad for 38 years. He was finally and rightfully removed from it by high explosives.
