Almost 90 years after Prohibition, some places are still dry. Why is that?

I guess the real question is really why SHOULD they be wet-what are the societal benefits? if the citizens don't want the wet or the trouble that invariably comes with it who is to say they are wrong. The citizens get to vote where I am from. Mostly vote dry. I would also vote dry-myself having come from a family with a very long and proud line of alcoholics, I prefer to break that chain.
Everyone else, go ahead and just "do" you, and for me I will vote dry every time-we don't need the "money" in the county that bad. Folks just go to the neighboring county, they are wet.
