Saint Nicholas

Happy Saint Nicholas Day!!! The inspiration for modern day Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas is traditionally known and celebrated for his inspirational devotion to helping the poor. But he also known as a tremendous defender of the Faith. The story goes that Nicholas - during the Nicean Council - punched Arius during a debate over whether there was ever a time when the Word did not exist. The Arian heresy was dismissed, and the Council developed what we now recite during every Mass - the Nicean Creed!!
